DESCRIPTION:
Tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) is a serine
protease that contains 527 amino acids. T-PA can bind firmly to fibrin. In
the absence of fibrin, t-PA is enzymatically less
active against plaminogen. However, in the presence
of fibrin, plasminogen activation by t-PA can be
promoted significantly. The molecular weight of t-PA is 68,000.
SOURCE:
CHO Cells
PURITY:
Greater than 90% by SDS-PAGE.
ACTIVITY:
1 nM t-PA will cause a change in absorbance of
0.001 at 405 nm in 1 minute at room temperature in 100 ul
0.05 M Tris-HCl, 0.1 M NaCl,
pH 7.4, using S2288 (0.6 mM) as the substrate.
PRESENTATION:
White lyophilized powder or solution.
STORAGE:
The lyophilized powder is best stored desiccated below 0°C.
