DESCRIPTION:
Aprotinin is a single chain polypeptide which can
inhibit esterase and protease activity such as chymotrypsin,
kallikrein, plasmin,
tissue and leukocytic protease and trypsin. It contains 58 amino acids. Its molecular weight
is 6512. pH optimum 5-7.
SOURCE:
Bovine Lungs.
PURITY:
Greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE.
ACTIVITY:
6618 KIU/mg. One kallikrein inhibitory unit (KIU)
is identical to the quantity of protease inhibitor that has the ability to
inhibit two kallikrein units by 50% under optimal
conditions. (1000 KIU = 1 KU)
PRESENTATION:
White lyophilized powder or solution.
STORAGE:
The lyophilized powder and solution can be stored at 4°C for up to three
months.
